Innocent Village Fete

As far as London's numerous inner-city festivals go, most look like hell holes, and while the notion of turning Regent's Park into a "village fete" for the space of a few days might not seem like the most natural solution to that problem, it remains the preferred method of the Innocent Smoothies folk, who return for another year of welly-wanging, ferret-racing, cake-eating, dog endurance and whatnot.

There are also a bunch of bands playing, including but not limited to The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Earl Okin, Peter and the Wolf, The Boy Least Likely To and more as yet unknown along the lines of blues, swing, jazz, electronica, folk and most probably everything in-between.

The event takes place on Saturday 2nd - Sunday 3rd August in Regent's Park, London.

What's more it's about a hundred percent cheaper than most festivals, being seven pounds fifty. And I've paid more than that to see the Ukulele Orchestra alone. And they were worth every penny!

In fact, the event's non-profit - which isn't surprising really, given the entry fees! (Joke! Non-profit means they give the money away to charities.)
